130 seemed to be owned by senior Josh Johnston Indian Creek. He was the returning champion, but had many hard fought battles with Junior standout Braden Shaw Brooke. Shaw got stronger as the season went on proof being his 3rd place finish at states. The surprise in this weight class and a wrestler to watch out for next year is Grant Hoppel (Yes another Hoppel) Beaver Local. Grant Defeated Johnston in double OT in the semifinals, what a match! Aaron Brown Monroe Central is going to be a force next year also just missing states by a match. Jessie Mahan Oak Glen looks like he has filled out, if so he is very strong and capable of challenging for a title next year. Any of the other listed above with off season work could be standing on the podium in January.
