Well the coaches did not need any help on this one! Who said the coaches did not know anything? The seeds were all right except for the 3rd and 4th flip flop. My picks were also close, I believe Glass would have placed but just fell into a bad spot in the consolation rounds. Jesse Emery, Harrison Central was my first pick from the beginning to the end! Emery has had great work out partners in the past and has invaluable experience in big tournaments. Willie Saxton, Buckeye Local was a stud in Jr. High, and will be a force for the next 3 years (I have also seen his name in open tournaments). Open Tournaments and summer camps are the key to a great winter! I lost track of Brian Humphrey, Wheeling Park because of the shake up's at 103, and 112. He prove that I should pay more attention to WP in the feature. Matt Smith, Brooke wrestles everyone tough, as seen in his 2 point semi-final loss to Humphrey, which he avenged with his 3-2 go to state win over Humphrey in Regionals. This class possessed a bunch of depth, with former 103 pound OVAC Champion Jake Bates, East Liverpool, and Sectional Champion Brady Roth, Martins Ferry placing 5th and 6th!

These wrestlers will see each other again, only Bates graduated out of this group!

Also in this weight class you had 4 State Qualifiers, and 2 of those were State Placers: Jesse Emery, Cadiz Harrison Central (11), Willie Saxton, Rayland Buckeye Local (9), Dirk Baker, Oak Glen (9), Matt Smith, Brooke (11).
