My Rankings (Before OVAC)
OVAC Seeds
OVAC Place finishers 2004 Seed in ( )
I went with Mike Lehotay Meadowbrook from his OVAC placement last year and returning to the same weight class is always a plus. I knew Ron Green Wheeling Park was very good with out even starting last year, he was behind standout Abbie Rush Wheeling Park. I also knew about James Myers Indian Creek, but with an early season hand injury he fell on my rankings. Myers came back like a gangbuster pinning Lehotay in the semi's, after that he qualified for the State Tournament in February. Dustin Daugherty Cambridge was always on the top part of the rankings but was handled easily but Green in the Semi's. I had the top 4 right, but in the wrong order, LOL. I believe that Derik Caudill Beaver Local could have done better if not for an off season injury that slowed his start too, he proved his toughness with a 6-5 win over Daugherty in the District Tournament. Another wrestlers that started out slow but finished strong was Jimmy Young Buckeye Local. He beat four of my ranked wrestlers, and was a match away from being the 10th State Qualifier in this weight. He did an excellent job starting the OVAC All-Stars out with a win against the MAC in All-Star. Also in this weight class you had 9 State Qualifiers, and 2 of those were State Placers: Mike Lehotay, Byesville Meadowbrook, (11), Dustin Daugherty, Cambridge, (10), Derik Caudill, Lisbon Beaver, (10), James Myers, Wintersville Indian Creek, (9), Bobby Morris, Steubenville Catholic Central, (11), Brandon Davis, Oak Glen, 10, Jimmy Blake, Bishop Donahue, 9, Daniel Felton, Brooke, 9, Ron Green, Wheeling Park, 10,
