My Rankings (Before OVAC)
OVAC Seeds
OVAC Place finishers 2004 Seed in ( )
Zach Schuller Buckeye Local is on his way to become a four time O.V.A.C. Champion, earning his second crown as a Sophomore! He is a very physical wrestler, and works hard in the off season to maintain his edge! Zach has a very flashy style and is exciting to watch. Zach finished the year with a sixth place finish at States. Ryan Ferguson Monroe Central finished his wrestling career placing three times at the O.V.A.C. Tournament, the highest being his finals match with Schuller. Alex Lee John Marshall wrestled a fantastic OVAC Tournament, after being tripped up by fellow senior Tom Carpenter St. John Central 8-6 in the second round. Alex then won two over time matches (one in double O.T.) to take third. He capped off his senior year taking fifth place at the State Tournament. The next three wrestlers are very close in ability; Luke Warren Martins Ferry placed ahead of both Hoppel and Cumpston at the OVAC Tournament. Grant Hoppel Beaver Local went on to be a State Qualifier, and he also wrestles in the off season. Jeff Cumpston Cameron went on the be a State Champion! These three wrestlers will be on my list to watch next year. Kyle King Barnesville did not have a good OVAC Tournament but did qualify for the State Tournament and should also be watched next year. Also in this weight class you had 7 State Qualifiers, and 3 of those were State Placers and 1 State Champion: Grant Hoppel, Lisbon Beaver, (11), Zack Schuller, Rayland Buckeye Local, (10), Kyle King, Barnesville, (10), Ryan Ferguson, Woodsfield Monroe Central, (12), Joel Timmons, Oak Glen, 10, Jeff Cumpston, Cameron, 11, Alex Lee, John Marshall, (12)
